Zach Edmondson survived cool and windy conditions on Sunday to open the season with a victory at Grandover Resort’s East Course. The wind was brutal for both days as scores reflected the difficulty of the course and the conditions. Edmondson overcame a 3 shot deficit on Sunday to pull even with overnight leader Zach Seabolt. When Seabolt missed a 10 foot eagle putt on 18, the two were tied and went to a sudden death playoff. This playoff, however, was anything but sudden as both competitors parred the first seven holes! Finally, as the sun was setting, Edmondson’s three-putt par on number 18 was good enough to claim victory.

In the Am Division, US Mid-Am Champ Kevin O’Connell shot two steady rounds of even par 72 to claim a 3 shot victory over Duke Blue Devil Evan Katz. Thanks to all competitors for braving the elements and making this a great start to the season. We look forward to seeing everyone next week at Country Club of South Carolina.
