MISSION STATEMENT

The Coastal Players Tour exists to provide professional golfers and high level amateurs a place to develop their skills and gain competitive experience at a reasonable cost, while providing an unmatched tournament setting.

HISTORY

The Coastal Players Tour was founded in 2010 by Buddy Wilkins in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina.  For the first 4 years, events were conducted on the weekends at premium courses along the Grand Strand and surrounding areas.  Participation grew over those years and reached a high of 69 players at an event held at Myrtle Beach National.

In 2016 The Tour expanded its area into N.C To form “The Carolinas Section”

The Tour rotated its schedule from South Carolina one week to North Carolina the next and added 4 “Majors” to the schedule.   2016 concluded with the first ever Coastal Players Tour “Tour Championship” at the Donald Ross gems of Pine Needles and Mid Pines in Southern Pines, NC.

Over the 10 years of its existence, several players have used the Coastal Players Tour as a stepping stone in their career as a professional golfer.  Grayson Murray- A Coastal Players Tour winner, and now PGA Tour winner of The Barba sol Championship.

Roberto Diaz– Diaz competed on The Coastal Players Tour for four years. Earning Full previledges on The Korn Ferry Tour, and advancing to The PGA Tour in 2018.

Jared Wolfe- Wolfe of Louisville KY. Competed on The Coastal Players Tour, and with two victories on The 2020 Korn Ferry Tour, has secured his PGA Tour card with full playing privilege’s for the 2021 season.

Zack Byrd- Byrd a Coastal Players Tour winner, secured full status on The Sunshine Tour– Europe’s feeder to The European Tour.

Dan Obremski – Fired a course record 62 to gain spot in The Greenbrier Classic on The PGA Tour.

Ryan Zylstra- Ryan also qualified for The Greenbrier Classic on The PGA Tour, and drew a Phil Mickelson pairing on Saturday.
